Wichita, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has recently announced the 2011 all-conference awards for women's soccer.

Southwestern College, off of a 10-8-1 record had several players honored for their efforts this season.  Maddie Chapin (Andover, KS) was the only Lady Builder named to the First Team.  Morgan Constantine (Euless, TX), Kaci Hutchinson (Oologah, OK), Sierra Meyer (Manhattan, KS), and Alyson Sparkman (Owasso, OK) were all named Honorable Mention All-KCAC.

The Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan University are the regular season champions. Kansas Wesleyan head coach Mike Dibbini was named Coach of the Year.  The Coyotes boast Monique Orocio as Offensive Player of the Year and Yadira Toraya as Defensive Player of the Year.  Goalkeeper of the Year is Madison WIles of Bethel College. Freshman of the Year is Caryn Welch of Bethel College. Newcomer of the Year is Araceli Sanchez of Kansas Wesleyan.

The following athletes were selected by conference coaches as KCAC first team, KCAC second team or honorable mention.

Salina, Kan. – Southwestern College women's soccer, off of an impressive 2011 season, fell versus nationally ranked Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday night in the semi-finals of the KCAC Conference Tournament, 0-2.

This loss drops Southwestern to 10-8-1 on the year.

With a good blend of returning players from last year and some new talent, Southwestern played some extremely good soccer on the pitch during 2011.  After advancing into the semi-finals after a 4-1 victory over Saint Mary, unfortunately, the Lady Builders had to run up against the Lady Coyote buzz saw. 

Southwestern was outshot 30-2 in the game and managed to only get one shot on frame.

Southwestern will look to build upon a great 2011 campaign as the coaches hit the recruiting trail in preparation of an even better season in 2012.
