Tyler Lytton - Assistant Coach
Tyler Lytton is in his second year as the Assistant Golf Coach at Southwestern and his sixth year with the college altogether. Tyler grew up in nearby Augusta, Kansas and attended Augusta High School up until 2004. While in Augusta, Tyler had much success on the golf course. His sophomore year of High School, Tyler was a part of the 4A State Championship Basketball and Golf team. His senior year he finished with a 76 scoring average and ended his High School career with a 3rd place finish at the state tournament.
Tyler's college career showed as much success as did his High School career. After a rough freshman year, Tyler ended his second season with the Moundbuilders as the Conference and Region Champion. At the Conference Tournament, a first round 66 led him to a 12 shot victory capturing his first collegiate win. The next week, Tyler won the Region Championship by 2 shots. Tyler's junior season ended with 2 victories, a 74 scoring average, and All-American Honors. Tyler was named a Ping Golf Coaches Association of America All-American and an NAIA All-American his final two years at Southwestern. He ended his career with 6 total victories, 3 straight Conference Tournament Championships (2006, 2007, and 2008), and 3 straight Conference Player of the Year Awards (2006, 2007, and 2008).
Tyler turned pro in the summer of 2008 and won his first professional golf tournament in Winfield at the William Newton Pro-Am shooting a 68 at Quail Ridge Golf Course. He is also continuing his education at Southwestern as Tyler is half way to his Masters degree in Business Administration. Tyler is fully committed to Winfield and Southwestern College as he is very grateful for the College giving him the opportunities that he has received.
