Top Ten Reasons to Choose Southwestern Cheer

1)      Southwestern College offers one of the largest cheer scholarships in the area--$4000 per year!

2)      Southwestern Cheer Squad members may receive academic scholarships in addition to their cheer activity scholarship.

3)      While tumbling skills are welcome, they are not a requirement for acceptance on our cheer squad, providing cheer/yell leaders with other cheerleading strengths an opportunity to cheer at a collegiate level.

4)      All cheer expenses (uniforms, team jackets, cheer bags/pom-poms, camp retreat fees, travel, competition fees, etc.) are paid for by the college so that athletes may participate at little personal cost.

5)      Cheer practices and activities are purposely arranged to allow members to be actively involved in other areas of interest--including dance, band, drama, discipleship, choir, leadership, student government, and club activities.

6)      SC Cheer squad members may choose to cheer in fall, spring, or full-year seasons, allowing them to participate in a collegiate sport, if they choose.

7)      Southwestern College holds fall and winter tryout sessions, in addition to traditional spring tryouts, to assist students in applying for early admission and academic scholarship opportunities.
