
Brad Sexson enters his fifth year as Head Men's Golf Coach at Southwestern College. The men's golf team is coming off an excellent 2007-2008 campaign including a third consecutive Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Championship, a thrid consecutive National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Region IV Championship and an 8th place finish at the NAIA National Championship. The Moundbuilders have made three consecutive NAIA National Championship appearances under the guidance of Sexson.
Sexson got his start in golf at L.W. Clapp Park Golf Course in Wichita, KS. As a young man, Sexson would spend all day at the golf course playing and practicing. This hard work led to his very successful junior golf career that included several wins in and around the state of Kansas. Sexson went on to earn three varsity letters at Wichita Southeast High School before attending Butler County Community College in ElDorado, KS. His junior college career included two time First Team All-Jayhawk Conference honors, two time First Team All-National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Region VI honors and 1996 NJCAA All-American honors. Sexson continued his college golf career at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA where he earned a B.A. in Communications.
Sexson's coaching accolades at Southwestern College include three KCAC Conference Championships, three NAIA Region IV Championships and three NAIA National Championship appearances. Sexson has coached three KCAC Individual Champions, three NAIA Region IV Indiviudal Champions, and four NAIA All-Americans.
Prior to Southwestern College, Sexson was the Director of Golf at Newman University in Wichita, KS. While at Newman, Sexson successfully led the team to five Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, four NAIA Region IV Championships, and five NAIA National Championship appearances including two top 10 finishes.
Prior to coaching, Sexson played professionally on various mini-tours and compiled a nice record. In 1998 Sexson won the Labor Day Pro-Am in Orange, TX. That same year he advanced through U.S. Open local qualifying. Sexson missed out on earning a spot in the field by 2 shots with a tie for fifth at sectional qualifying.
Sexson is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America and is accredited in golf club-making, golf club repair, and golf club custom fitting. He is also the consultanting Head Golf Professional at Winfield Country Club.
Sexson and his wife Marla have two children, Bryce Russell, 4, and Jordyn Elizabeth, 6. They reside in Winfield, KS and enjoy spending time as a family. They have a German Shepard puppy named Gretchan.

Tyler Lytton is in his second year as the Assistant Golf Coach at Southwestern and his sixth year with the college altogether.
