Joe Wood - Head Coach
Head women's soccer coach Joe Wood joined Southwestern College Moundbuilder Soccer in August of 2005 as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams.  He accepted the head coaching position for the women's team in August of 2006.  He brings with him a lifetime full of soccer experience.

Coach Wood was raised in Winfield, Kansas.  He began playing soccer in 1990 and continued through high school where he played on the Southwestern College soccer field as a member of the Winfield High School Vikings Soccer Team.  He advanced his soccer career at Allen County Community College.  During the second season at ACCC, he served as team captain and received the NJCAA Academic All-American.  He transferred to Southwestern College where he was awarded Most Inspirational Player, served as team captain, named KCAC Academic All Conference and NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete, and awarded Outstanding Student Athlete.

Wood graduated from Southwestern with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Business Administration in May 2005.  He continued his education at Southwestern and received his Masters in Business Administration in the spring of 2007.  Wood currently holds an NSCAA  Advanced National Diploma along with an NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Diploma.
 
Suzie Hinman - Assistant Coach

2010 marks Suzie Hinman's first season as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders. Hinman was raised in Idaho Falls, ID where she played for Skyline High School,  Xtreme Soccer Club and as a member of the Idaho '88 ODP team. During her high school career, Hinman was distinguished as the a two year team MVP and team captain, a Wendy's High School Heisman State Finalist, and graduated #1 in her class. 

Coach Hinman had a distinguished collegiate career; she was a three-year starter at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer,NC. During her time at Pfeiffer, she was a two-year captain named to the All-Conference Academic Honor Roll and the an All State Student-Athlete. Some of her other honors include the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President, the Outstanding Servant Leadership Award, and she was a Bonner Scholar.   

Additionally, Coach Hinman has been the head coach for Gray Stone Day High School for the past three years. She leaves her team with an overall record of 34-14-3 including a undefeated season in 2010 going 13-0-1 in conference with a Eurosport ranking of #1 for NC 1A schools. Hinman graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major in History and Political Science and will be earning her Master's of Science in Leadership while at Southwestern College.

 
 
Women's Soccer
