
Brad Sexson enters his eighth year as Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach at Southwestern College. The men's golf team is coming off an excellent 2010-2011 campaign highlighted by a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Regular Season Championship, a KCAC Tournament Championship and an appearance at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship.
Sexson was named KCAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year.
The women's golf team is also coming off an excellent year that included two regular season wins and a third place finish at the NAIA Unaffiliated Conference Championship. The Lady Builders were led by Courtney Huppert, who won the individual championship and earned a spot in the National Championship field.
Sexson got his start in golf at L.W. Clapp Park Golf Course in Wichita, KS. As a young man, Sexson would spend all day at the golf course playing and practicing. This hard work led to his very successful junior golf career that included several wins in and around the state of Kansas. Sexson went on to earn three varsity letters at Wichita Southeast High School before attending Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS. His junior college career included two time First Team All-Jayhawk Conference honors, two time First Team All-National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Region VI honors and 1996 NJCAA All-American honors. Sexson continued his college golf career at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA where he earned a B.A. in Communications.
Sexson's coaching accolades at Southwestern College include five KCAC Men's Golf Conference Championships, three NAIA Men's Golf Region IV Championships, two NAIA Women's Golf Region IV Championships, five NAIA Men's Golf National Championship appearances and four NAIA Women's Golf National Championship appearances.
Prior to Southwestern College, Sexson was the Director of Golf and Head Men's Golf Coach at Newman University in Wichita, KS. While at Newman, Sexson successfully led the team to five Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, four NAIA Region IV Championships, and five NAIA National Championship appearances including two top 10 finishes. In total Sexson has led teams to ten Conference Championships, nine Regional Championships and 14 National Championship appearances. Sexson has been named Conference Coach of the Year seven times and NAIA Region IV Coach of the Year seven times.
Prior to coaching, Sexson played professionally on various mini-tours and compiled a nice record. In 1998 Sexson won the Labor Day Pro-Am in Orange, TX. That same year he advanced through U.S. Open local qualifying. Sexson missed out on earning a spot in the field by 2 shots with a tie for fifth at sectional qualifying.
Sexson is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America and is accredited in golf club-making, golf club repair, and golf club custom fitting. He is also the consulting Head Golf Professional at Winfield Country Club.
Sexson earned a degree in Master of Business Administration from Southwestern College in 2009. He and his wife Marla have two children, Bryce Russell, 7, and Jordyn Elizabeth, 9. They reside in Winfield, KS and enjoy spending time as a family. They have a German shepherd named Gretchan.

Tyler Lytton is in his fourth year as the Assistant Golf Coach at Southwestern and his eighth year with the College altogether. Tyler grew up in nearby Augusta, Kansas and attended Augusta High School up until 2004. While in Augusta, Tyler had much success on the golf course. His sophomore year of High School, Tyler was a part of the 4A State Championship Basketball and Golf team. His senior year he finished with a 76 scoring average and ended his High School career with a 3rd place finish at the state tournament.
Tyler's college career showed as much success as did his High School career. After a rough freshman year, Tyler ended his second season with the Moundbuilders as the Conference and Region Champion. At the Conference Tournament, a first round 66 led him to a 12 shot victory capturing his first collegiate win. The next week, Tyler won the Region Championship by 2 shots. Tyler's junior season ended with 2 victories, a 74 scoring average, and All-American Honors. Tyler was named a Ping Golf Coaches Association of America All-American and an NAIA All-American his final two years at Southwestern. He ended his career with 6 total victories, 3 straight Conference Tournament Championships (2006, 2007, and 2008), and 3 straight Conference Player of the Year Awards (2006, 2007, and 2008).
Tylerreceived his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Southwestern in May of 2010. He also continues to play golf professionally during the summer. He looks forward to the upcoming year at Southwestern and has great aspirations of seeing both teams return to the National Championship in May.
