WINFIELD, Kan. – Senior lineman Nick Qualls and junior kick returner Lorenzo Fouts have been named to the 2012 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Pre-Season Football team. Qualls was second-team All-KCAC selection following the 2011 season.

Qualls, a 5-11, 315 lb. offensive lineman from Coweta, Okla., returns for his senior season after anchoring an offensive line that allowed Southwestern to finish 12^th in the NAIA in rushing offense per game. With Qualls' help, the Moundbuilders ran for 2,351 yards, and 213.7 yards per game though the 2011 season.

Fouts, meanwhile, proved himself as one of the best kick returners in the conference in 2011. A 5-10, 200 lb. kick returner from Arlington, Texas finished the 2011 season ranked No. 16 in the NAIA with 566 kick returns, and averaged 23.6 yards per return attempt. Fouts also returned 140 punt returns for the 2011 Moundbuilder squad.

Southwestern opens its 2012 campaign on Aug. 30 with a trip to Orange City, Iowa to take on the Northwestern College Red Raiders. Kick-off is slated for 6 p.m. at De Valois Stadium.
