Salina, Kan. - Football Media Day for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) will be held Wednesday, August 1 at the Salina Country Club. The event kicks off with a luncheon beginning promptly at 11 a.m., coaches will take the podium starting at 11:30 a.m.

Featured highlights of the annual media day include a press conference with presentations and insights from all KCAC Head Coaches, personalized team previews for the 2012 football season, questions and answer sessions, and opportunities for one-on-one interviews with Head Coaches.

Following up on the success of last year's live broadcast of the media day, the KCAC will provide a live video stream of the 2012 Football Media Day. The video stream will be available live on the KCAC Broadcast Network at 11:30 a.m.

Media members in attendance will be asked to participate in a preseason poll for the projected finish of the 2012 season. Head Coaches will also be polled and both preseason polls will also be released during the media day activities.

KCAC Football Media Day 2012 will include the following features for all registered members of the media:

  • A meal at the Salina Country Club compliments of the KCAC and member-institutions.
  • Season outlook speeches by each of the ten football Head Coaches and opportunities for media members to participate in Q&A.
  • Participation in the KCAC Football Media Preseason Poll.
  • Access to all coaches, following the season preview speeches, for individual interviews and/or photo opportunities.

KCAC member institutions will provide media guides and other program-specific literature for members of the media. The conference will also provide a 2012 composite schedule.

2012 KCAC Sports Information Director of the Year, David Toelle (Kansas Wesleyan University) will be honored at this year's event. Former McPherson College Sports Information Director and winner of the first KCAC SID of the Year award, Carol Swenson, will act as emcee for the festivities.

In addition to the many members of the regional and state's working press and electronic news media, Football assistant coaches, institutional SIDs, and support personnel from KCAC member institutions will be participating in the media day activities.
