Hillsboro, Kan. – Southwestern College ran up against a hot shooting Tabor College on Saturday night, as Tabor upset #14 Southwestern, 65-80.

 

This loss drops Southwestern to 18-3 overall and 8-2 in KCAC play.

 

Despite a one point halftime lead, Tabor exploded with a barrage of three point shots in the second half to regain the lead for good, knocking off Southwestern in front of a large crowd in Hillsboro.  Southwestern shot only 40% from the field and 24% from the three point arc.  Tabor shot 44% from the field but made eight three point shots and made 18 free throws as compared to only 9 for Southwestern.

 

Southwestern was led by Chris Nelson who finished with 17 points on 7-12 shooting.
