
Hillsboro, Kan. - Southwestern College struggled to find an offensive flow on Saturday night but limited Tabor College to just 35 points to defeat the Lady Jays, 73-35.
This win improves #23 Southwestern to 15-5 overall and 9-1 in KCAC play.
Despite a slow start offensively, Southwestern held Tabor to just 17 first half points and lead 37-17 at the break. The second half was more of the same as SC would outscore the Lady Jays 36-18 in the second frame. Southwestern shot 40% from the field and 37% from the three point arc while holding Tabor to 27% shooting from the floor. Southwestern also out-rebounded Tabor 48-29 while forcing Tabor into 31 turnovers.
Southwestern was led by Brett Bates who finished with 12 points and was the only Lady Builder in double figures.
Next up for Southwestern is a matchup against Sterling College on Thursday in Stewart Field House. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. (CST) in Winfield.
