
Winfield, Kan. - Southwestern College struggled with Bethel College (1-16, 1-7) early in the game, as the scrappy style of the Threshers seemed to stymie the Moundbuilders early. Despite their early struggles, the Builders would start the second half on a 16-4 run and would end up defeating Bethel, 76-58.
This win improves Southwestern to 18-2 overall and 8-1 in KCAC play while Bethel drops to 1-17 overall and 1-8 in conference action.
Southwestern shot 54.8% from the floor for the game while out-rebounding the Threshers by 23.
the Builders were led by Chris Nelson who finished with 18 points on 6-8 shooting. James Davis and Koury Clayton each chipped in 15 points.
Next up for Southwestern is a matchup against Tabor College on Saturday in Hillsboro, Kansas. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. (CST) in Hillsboro.
