Ruben Sanchez has resigned as head men's soccer coach at Southwestern College, effective immediately.  Assistant coach Joseph Yeisley has been named as the interim head coach.

Sanchez will be joining his fiancée in Oklahoma City, where she is employed.

Originally from Houston, Sanchez made a major impact on the Southwestern soccer program.  After a successful playing career at SC  (he was a first team All-KCAC performer) he stayed on as a graduate assistant coach.  After two years in that capacity, Sanchez was promoted to the head coaching position in 2008.

In four seasons as head coach, Sanchez amassed a career record of 14-53-3, including a 5-13 record in 2011.  Sanchez is leaving a program which includes a roster full of youth and talent thanks to the recruiting efforts of Sanchez and Yeisley over the past year.

Southwestern will conduct a national search for a new head coach before the 2012 season.
