Winfield, Kan. -Southwestern College football player Zak Tazkargy hasbeen named to a preseason All-American team with his selection to the 2011 "D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl" Preseason All-American Football Teams. He was a First Team selection. Joining him from the KCAC are Clarence Anderson (Ottawa), Jeran Trotter (Friends), Ricky Roberts (Kansas Wesleyan), Andy Skinner (McPherson), Dan Pinsky (Kansas Wesleyan), Adrian Thomas (Kansas Wesleyan), Chase Hartman (Kansas Wesleyan), Spencer Brown (Tabor), Joe Middleton (McPherson), and Darby House (Bethany).


The players were selected as 2011 Preseason Football All-Americans by the Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) and the D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl selection committee. The "D2vsNAIA Senior Bowl" is a post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA D2 Division and the NAIA football levels. This Bowl game is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League and will be held December 3, 2011 in the New York City metro area.

Player selections for this showcase game begin with the announcement of our "D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl "All-American team. This team recognizes the football achievements of senior players who are entering their final season on the D2 and NAIA levels. The" D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl" selection committee will review player performance throughout the 2011 season and will invite 40 players per level in a challenge game format between these two levels. Bowl co-founder, Peter St. Lawrence, stated during his August 15, 2011 press conference," We are proud to present the inaugural, D2 vs. NAIA Bowl. This is one of our three post season scout bowl games which serve to promote and showcase the exceptional talent found on the collegiate level beyond the BCS".

The D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl player invitations begin in September and conclude with a November 15 commitment deadline.
