KCAC Conference Track Meet- Final Recap
After the completion of day two and 21 scored events, Southwestern College has continued with their winning tradition as the Moundbuilders have now won 29 consecutive conference championships. Southwestern held a slim four and ½ point lead over McPherson after day one but pulled away in the finishing events for the final margin of nine and ½ points. Final scores are as follows: Southwestern 199, McPherson 189.5, Bethany 124.5, Tabor 93, Ottawa 83, Friends 80, Sterling 21, Bethel 18, and Kansas Wesleyan 0 completes the field of nine total teams.
In the individual awards, McPherson's Daniel Sorenson was named the MVP of the meet with 32 individual points. McPherson coach Joe Eby was named Men's Coach of the Year.
After the completion of day two and 21 scored events, Friends University held on to their lead from day one despite a surge from Bethany on the second day for a 29 point win for the Lady Falcons. Final Scores are as follows: Friends 198.5, Bethany 169.5, Southwestern 138, Tabor 102, Ottawa 62, Sterling 51, Kansas Wesleyan 29, Bethel 29, and McPherson 28 completes the field of nine total teams.
In the individual awards, Bethany's Lisa Faimon was named the MVP of the meet with 32 individual points. Friend's coach Matt Kenndey was named Women's Coach of the Year.
