WINFIELD, Kan. – The Southwestern College men's soccer team suffered its third-straight shutout loss Saturday evening. The Moundbuilders fell to the Panthers of York College, 3-0, under the lights of Richard L. Jantz Stadium.

Sophomore Fernando Salazar took three of the seven Southwestern (0-11, 0-4 KCAC) shots in the match, two of which were on-target. Tre Thomas, Chandler Hall, Ranner Rodriguez and Rosendo Martinez also took shot attempts.

Junior keeper Dean Wilson made eight saves in the match, but allowed the three goals.

York (3-6-1, 1-2-1 KCAC) out-shot the Moundbuilders, 25-7, in the match. The Panthers posted a 6-0 corner kick advantage.

York took 12 shots in the opening half, but was unable to put one past Wilson, and the two teams were knotted at 0-0 when halftime arrived. That changed early in the second half. The Panthers scored in the 48th minute to take a 1-0 lead, then added another goal just under five minutes later. York completed its scoring with a 70th-minute goal on its way to the 3-0 win.

Saturday's loss drops Southwestern to 0-11 on the season, and 0-4 in KCAC play. The Moundbuilders will return to action Wednesday, traveling to Lindsborg to face the Swedes of Bethany College. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Anderson Stadium.
