WINFIELD, Kan. – Southwestern College head tennis coach Jason Speegle has announced the addition of three men's tennis student-athletes to his 2017-18 team. Santiago Ramos, Mason Nichols and Aaron Hartley have each submitted letters of intent to continue their education and tennis careers at Southwestern College next year.

Santiago Ramos (Fr. – Villa Allende, Argentina – Milenio Villa Allende)
Ramos will join the Moundbuilders after graduating from Milenio Villa Allende in Villa Allende, Cordoba, Argentina, with a focus in communication and an emphasis in entrepreneurship. He was ranked as high as No. 82 in Argentina as a junior tennis player.

Mason Nichols (Fr. – San Antonio, Texas – Tom Clark HS)
Nichols comes to Southwestern from Tom Clark High School in San Antonio, Texas, where he was a three-year letterman, and helped lead the Cougars to three area championships. Nichols was the top player on the Clark High School squad, and won 26-straight district titles. He was also the individual district champion and was a regional finalist, while winning the NEISD Invitational and Battle of the Bay-Corpus Christi championships. He graduated with a Distinguished diploma.

Aaron Hartley (Fr. – Guthrie, Okla. – Guthrie HS)
Hartley will join the Moundbuilders following a four-year career at Guthrie High School in Guthrie, Okla., where he was a four-time Oklahoma 5A state qualifier. He finished fourth at No. 1 doubles at the 2016 Oklahoma state tournament, then finished third at No. 1 doubles as a senior in 2017. He was an all-state team selection as well.

Off the courts, Hartley is a National Honor Society member, and was an FCA member for four years, and a member of FFA and Student Council for two years each.
