FOLEY, Ala. – The Southwestern College track and field team competed in day two of the NAIA Outdoor National Championships Friday.  The team competed in three events.

Sophomore Kari Blattner kicked off the day by competing in the 800 Meter Run Prelims.  Blattner finished the race with a time of 2:16.79.  The Cimmaron, Kan. native was ranked 25th in the NAIA going into the race.  Blattner finished 19th overall and moved up six spots.

Tomunci Whitfield ran in the 100 Meter Dash.  Whitfield suffered an injury during the race, but was able finish the race despite the injury.

The women's 4x400 Meter Relay team finished off the long, hot day for the Moundbuilders.  Kari Blattner, Taya' Buchanan, Justine Vogele, and Taylor Needham finished the race with a time of 3:57.90.

The team finishes the meet Saturday, May 27.  Jersey Boydstun competes in the Marathon, Bailey Collier competes in the High Jump, and Taylor Needham competes in the 400 Meter Hurdle Finals.
