FOLEY, Ala. – The Southwestern College track and field team continued its journey to Gulf Shores, Ala. to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. The team traveled from Alexandria, La. to Foley, Ala., where they will stay for the rest of the week. This is what the team was up to today!
8:30 a.m. – The Builders grabbed breakfast at the hotel, loaded up the vehicles, and hit the road again.
12:00 p.m. – After sleeping most of the way, the team stopped for lunch. One vehicle stopped in Slidell, La. for lunch at Firehouse Subs, while the other vehicle stopped in Gulfport, Ala. for lunch.
12:30 p.m. – The Builders finished a delicious meal and stopped at a gas station to fill up and hit up the snack section again. The coaches in a particular vehicle were rather pleased with the sunflower seeds that were available. With frozen yogurt, popcorn, and sunflower seeds in hand, the Builders were back on the road.
3:00 p.m. – The Southwestern track team arrived at their hotel in Foley, Ala. The team unloaded the vehicles and settled into their rooms.
4:00 p.m. – The Builders made their way to Gulf Shores, Ala. for their first workout at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.
5:30 p.m. – After finishing their workouts, the Builders returned to the hotel to freshen up and relax before dinner.
7:00 p.m. – The team headed to Cracker Barrel for dinner.
8:00 p.m. – The Builders took the beach. The team found crabs, creatures, and enjoyed the sand between their toes.
9:00 p.m. – The team returned to the hotel and settled in for the night.
The Builders have arrived at their destination for the rest of the week and after a little bit of fun tomorrow, will get down to business.
