ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Southwestern College track and field team is heading to Gulf Shores, Ala. for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Here is a recap of what the team was up to today!
7:45 a.m. – The team sleepily loaded up the van and the SUV with all of their luggage for the week.
8:05 a.m. – After struggling to get the van and SUV packed, the final member arrived and the Builders pulled out of the parking lot to hit the road!
9:15 a.m. – The track and field team made its first pit stop. Everyone grabbed the snacks they wanted, and Jersey Boydstun abandoned the van for the SUV. With donuts, coffee, and sunflower seeds, the team got back on the road. The road-trip shenanigans continued from there.
1:15 p.m. – The Builders stopped for lunch in Paris, Texas. The team enjoyed a delicious meal at Schlotzsky's before heading to a gas station to fill up and grab some more snacks. The coaches in a particular vehicle were unhappy with the brand of sunflower seeds that were available, but bought them anyway.
2:15 p.m. – The food coma from lunch kicked in, and the team was out.
6:10 p.m. – The Builders arrived at their hotel in Alexandria, La. After unloading for the night, the team put their shoes on, stretched, and got down to business.
7:45 p.m. – The Southwestern track team made its way to Golden Corral for dinner.
9:00 p.m. – The Builders returned to the hotel and settled down for bed. Some Builders turned on The Bachelorette, and others went straight to bed.
