Women's Track & Field - Tue, Apr. 11, 2017

EL DORADO, Kan. – The Southwestern College women's track team established five new season-best marks in its most recent meet. The Lady Builders competed at the Everett Kohls Grizzly Invitational on Saturday, which was hosted at BG Products Veterans Memorial Athletic Complex by Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan.

Junior Taylor Needham continued her 400 Meter Hurdle dominance. Despite windy conditions, Needham posted a time of 1:02.65, which was the top time in the event, and was an 'A' qualifying mark for next month's NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. Her time also ranks atop the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference performance list, and ranks No. 5 in the NAIA thus far this season.

Bailey Collier and Megan Milch finished second and third, respectively, in the high jump. Collier finished at 1.64 meters (5'4.5"), while Milch's best clearance measured 1.59 meters (5'2.5"). Collier also posted a team-best performance in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.02 meters (16'5.75").

Southwestern will return to action Saturday, traveling to Pittsburg, Kan., for the annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University.
