WINFIELD, Kan. – Southwestern College junior Jordyn Miller has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 Women's Basketball Team. The district selections were announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Miller was the only Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference representative to be selected to the District 5 team, which covers the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The Wichita, Kan., native is the leading scorer for the 2016-17 Southwestern College women's basketball team, and is averaging 17.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Millerr is shooting 48 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from three-point range, and 79 percent from the free throw line. Entering Thursday's contest with Tabor, she is second-leading scorer in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, and the 23rd-leading scorer in NAIA Div. II.

Miller will now be eligible for consideration on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team.

The Academic All-District® teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

First Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America® honorees will be selected later this month.
