WINFIELD, Kan. – Southwestern College junior Jordyn Miller has been named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The weekly awards were announced late Monday by conference officials.
Miller posted a 25-point, 13-rebound double-double in Thursday's 73-63 win over McPherson. She was the game leader in both categories. The junior shot 57.1 percent from the floor, and 80 percent from the free throw line in an "ice storm"-shortened week.
The Wichita, Kan., native is currently ranked No. 21 in NAIA Div. II with 17.6 points per game, and is shooting 49.2 percent from the field, which ranks 35th in NAIA Div. II. She is also among the Top-50 nationally in total scoring (316 - No. 29), Free Throw Percentage (.803 – 42nd) and Defensive Rebounds per Game (5.4 – No. 47).
Miller and the Lady Builders return to the court Wednesday, hosting the Panthers of York College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. inside historic Stewart Field House.
