DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Sophomore Seth Bryan will represent Southwestern College and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference by competing as an individual in the 2014 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship. The championship event will be held May 12-14 at the LPGA National Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Bryan will tee off from Hole 10 at 1:40 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday afternoon, and will be paired with No. 3 players from Grand View (Iowa) and Saint Xavier (Ill.) for the opening round.
A Winfield, Kansas, native, Bryan qualified for this week's national championship tournament by claiming top honors at the KCAC Men's Golf Championship, which took place April 21-22 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan. After firing a 74 (+2) in the opening round, Bryan shot the lowest round of the tournament, a four-under-par 68 in the second round. Despite carding an 80 (+8) in the final round, Bryan still held off Bethany's James Tisdale for championship honors by three strokes.
Bryan will be competing in the national championship tournament for the second time in his two-year college career. He was a member of the 2013 KCAC Championship team that represented Southwestern at the 2013 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship in Salem, Ore.
