JOPLIN, Mo. – (Results) The Southwestern College Men's Track & Field program competed in the MSSU Lion Invitational last weekend. The event was hosted by Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo.
The Moundbuilder field events were highlighted by senior Chris Paddock, who recorded a new personal-best mark with his performance in the shot put. Paddock's longest throw measured 13.05 meters (49' 9.75"), and was good enough for a 14th place finish in the field of 41 throwers. Paddock also competed in the weight throw, where he finished 19th with a heave of 13.96 meters (45' 9.75").
The distance events were the highlight of Southwestern's track events last weekend. Senior Colton McNinch posted a pair of Top-15 finishes over the weekend, and did so against primarily NCAA Div. II competition. McNinch finished eighth of 34 runners in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:45.45, and was 14th out of 58 competitors in the one mile run with a time of 4:30.64.
Southwestern will return to action Friday, traveling to Manhattan, Kan., for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship. The event will be held inside Ahearn Field House on the campus of Kansas State University.
