WINFIELD, Kan. – Expected overnight rains, and an April blast of winter weather have forced the postponement of Wednesday's Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with Saint Mary. The games will now be played on April 25, and will be played at Black Creek Park in Winfield.
The doubleheader will still serve as the annual "Strike Out Cancer" event with both teams wearing pink for the evening.
The series with USM has had a troubled past this season. The games were originally scheduled for April 3, but were pushed back one week due to persistent rains last week. Tonight's expected rain and potential winter precipitation forced the postponed games to be postponed once again. It also resulted in the third-straight postponement of a home softball game.
Southwestern will return to action Thursday, hosting the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes in a doubleheader that was also rescheduled due to the threat of severe weather. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Broadway Recreation Complex.
