GENEVA, Ohio – (Live Scoring) Select members of the Southwestern College Indoor Track & Field team will be in action this weekend for the final, but most important meet of the indoor season. The NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships begin today at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Southwestern's headliner in the event is freshman Cassie Hollenback, who will compete in the 1000 meter run. Hollenback, a Douglass, Kan., native, ran the 1000 meter race in 2:58.83 at the Nebraska Tune Up meet on February 15 in Lincoln, Neb. That time became the sixth-best qualifying time in the country. Her 1000 meter semifinal race is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1.

The first Southwestern event to participate in this year's indoor national championship will be the 4x800 relay team. The team, consisting of Eric Anders, Sam McDaniel, Conner Drendel and Nick Warnke, posted a qualifying time of 7:58.58 at the KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. That time was a meet record, and was the 14th-best qualifying time in the NAIA this season. Friday's 4x800 relay semifinal is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start.

Just 90 minutes after the 4x800 relay takes the track, the Moundbuilder Distance Medley Relay team will take their shot in the DMR Semifinals. Brandyn Willard, Frank Adelman, Sam McDaniel and Conner Drendel turned heads at the Nebraska Tune Up meet with a school-record time of 10:12.62, a time that was the eighth-best qualifying time in the nation this season. The DMR semifinal is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

Rhea Rollins will have to wait until Friday for her shot at the 60 meter hurdles. Her qualifying time of 9.15 was the 24th-best in the NAIA this season, and was posted at the KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 8 in Manhattan, Kan. The 60 meter hurdle prelims are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start on Friday.

Artrail Skipper, meanwhile, will have to wait until Saturday to compete in the triple jump. He qualified with a jump of 14.11 meters at the Missouri Southern Lion Invitational, and owns the 20th-best jump in the nation thus far this season. The triple jump will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
