
Wichita, Kan. - Southwestern College women's basketball struggled to gain any footing in their second half comeback attempt versus Friends University on Saturday night, losing 76-86.
This loss drops Southwestern to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in KCAC play.
Southwestern led the majority of the first half but failed to close out the half, and went into the break trailing by 3, 38-41. After intermission, Friends shot the ball very well, shooting 50% from the field in the second half. Despite a very aggressive comeback effort, the Lady Builders came up a little bit short.
Southwestern was led by Brittney Chamberlin who finished with 21 points on 7-13 shooting. Zefiryn Bryan finished with 20 points (8-10 from the floor) and nine rebounds.
The Lady Builders will take off next week for finals week, and then travel to Ohio to take on Walsh University on December 20th.
