Winfield, Kan.-Southwestern College senior kicker/punter Austin Ledy (St. Marks, KS) has been selected KCAC Special Teams Player of the Week, announced Monday (Sept. 12) by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

In the Builders KCAC opening victory versus Bethel College, Ledy had a busy night of activity.  Ledy tied the school record with a 46 yard made field goal late in the second half.  Austin also went 6-6 on PAT's and is perfect thus far on PAT's in the 2011 season.  Ledy did not just score points though; he also set up the defense with three punts for an average of 41.67 yards.  In addition, Austin handled all kickoff duties and on those eight kickoffs, he averaged 53.5 yards per try.

Ledy did not handle the punting duties in previous seasons but is handling the new role with flying colors as he is currently the top ranked punter in the KCAC.

The Moundbuilders continue play this Saturday as they will host McPherson College at 6 p.m. (CST) in Richard L. Jantz Stadium.  The live webcast with Curt Caden will begin with the pregame show slated to start at 5:15 p.m.  For more information or to find the link to the live video broadcast, check out www.buildersports.com.
